What is kept in your browser
The site uses your browser's storage only for features you ask for. Nothing is written until you use the feature concerned.
| Storage | Content | When | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
localStorage | Licence token | After unlocking | Until you clear it; the licence expires after 12 months |
localStorage | Preference token | After unlocking | Until you clear it |
localStorage | Display preferences (theme, language) | When you change them | Until you clear them |
| Browser storage | Firm profiles | When you save a profile | Until you delete it |
| IndexedDB | Case-file mode files and correspondence table; the restore key, if you choose to keep it for the session | When you use case-file mode or keep the key | Deleted automatically after 24 hours at the latest |
| Cache Storage | AI model files and OCR data | The first time you use an AI feature | Until you clear them |
Open documents stay in the tab's memory and disappear when you close it.
Why there is no consent banner
Article 10/2 of the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data transposes Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive). It requires your consent to store information on your device or to access it. There is an exception where the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
Every item in the table falls under that exception: it is only created when you use the feature concerned, and it serves only that feature. Display preferences saved at your request fall under it too (Article 29 Working Party, Opinion 04/2012 on Cookie Consent Exemption). No banner is therefore needed. This page tells you what is kept.
How to clear this data
- In your browser: open the site information (the icon to the left of the address) and delete the site data, or clear this site's browsing data in the settings.
- In the developer tools: the Application panel (Chrome, Edge) or Storage panel (Firefox), then Clear site data.
Clearing this data removes your licence. To use the AI features again, you will need to confirm your e-mail address again, and the AI files will be downloaded again.
